Adobe Flash Player won't install with Windows IE 9?
I’m running Windows 7 Home Premium. Adobe Flash Player stopped running on IE 9 yet it runs on Mozilla. In IE under add-ons, Flash is enabled as well as active scripting.
I’ve Googled this and I’ve found “many” questions and solutions.
I ran the Adobe uninstaller and reinstalled with no luck. All Windows security updates are installed. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Also, does IE 10 work well with Windows 7 or is IE 10 tailored for Windows 8?
Thanks!
Mike

I'm guessing that you ran the uninstaller and manually deleted the leftover files as well.

And then you downloaded both the IE and Firefox (plugin) versions of Flash and reinstalled them.

IE10 is still in "preview" for Win7, so I wouldn't recommend it unless you want to be a beta tester.

Yes, that's what I did. I'll run the Adobe installer.
Thanks for the info on IE 10...IE 9 is running fine.

I'm pretty sure the uninstaller wipes out both the IE and Plugin versions. That's why you'd need to reinstall both of them. Otherwise, they would have separate uninstallers. Good luck.

I still can't get it to run on IE...Mozilla is fine. When I open ESPN.com a football player graphic shows then goes away. Then I'm prompted to install Flash which doesn't fix the problem.

When you go to the Adobe Flash test site, does it work in IE?

You could also try reverting to Flash 10. The download is on the same link, just scroll down to the bottom.

Do you have an addons or av/security software that might be blocking Flash on IE?

Thanks! I finally got it working by unchecking ActiveX Filtering.
