Modem Binding

Hi everyone.
I currently using a 2 Wire high speed mode through Bell.
I have a friend who said we can add another modem and use them together for more speed. He called it modem binding.
Can anyone give me a bit of advice on how this works or direct me to a site that will inform me?
I've Googled it and there is so many diffrent ways I got a little overwhelmed.
I'm looking for what to do with my particular equipment.

I assume that you are aware that this would require a second DSL line.

I think you mean "multiplexing" or "teaming" the DSL lines. From what I recall, modem binding refers to multiple dial-up connections. It's been a long time since I've heard that term used.

As jdc2000 mentioned, you would need two DSL lines. You would also need second modem and a dual-wan router.

Yes I know about the second phone line. But that could be a dry loop since I only need it for DSL.
I do know about the second modem.
My problem is gettting them linked together.
You mentioned a Dual WAN Router.
So would both modems plug into it and then one ethernet cable into my computer, I assume.
Is it worth the extra money to do this? Will it supposedly double my internet speed?

Yes.

In your case, I don't think so. I would check if there is a higher bandwidth DSL from your provider first. That would probably be cheaper than 2 separate DSL lines + a dual wan router.

It should be better, but not quite double. There is some overhead when you do multiplexing.
