Verizon Fios DVR vs.TiVo
I have been renting a TiVo Premium with my RCN cable tv service. I am leaving RCN and thinking to get FIOS which is finally available in my neighborhood. But I love the TiVo. Anyone has any hand-on experience wth Verizon's DVR?
In particular, I am most concern with 3 things:
1) With the TiVo, using their software I can transfer recorded shows to my PC. Can the Verizon DVR do that?
2) The RCN TiVo has 2 turners, so I can record 2 different shows at the same time. I chat online with the Verizon sales people, they say all their DVR's are single turner but then they said I can "watch one show while recording another. It even allows for recording two shows while watching a previously recorded show." I asked him how that's possible with only 1 turner in the box but they didn't know the answer.
3) Can I expand the capacity with an external hard drive?

One tuner in their DVR and another in your TV.
(You're not using either when watching a previously recorded show).

Verizon.com > TiVo® is compatible with FiOS TV. You can use a Set-Top Box or a CableCard for your TiVo device.
Verizon.com > The model, size, and color of your FiOS TV equipment may vary. (I see eleven different devices on that page).

When there is just 1 tuner in the DVR, I understand you can "watch" a live channel using the TV's tuner while the DVR's tuner is recording another show. But the VZ sales person says I can "record" 2 different shows at the same time. That's why I don't understand how that would be possible with just 1 tuner in the DVR.
Anyway, I follow your second link and find the User Guide for the DVR models. The guide for all 3 Motorola models says they are all dual-tuner (the Cisco user guide doesn't mention the tuner). I guess maybe the older models are single tuner and these are the newer DVR's VZ offers. I also posted this in the VZ forum and got an answer saying the DVR's are dual tuner.
