    Laptop brand you prefer

    Which brand of ready-made laptop (PC) you think is the best?

    I picked Toshiba. I've owned 2 and have used quite a few more over the last number of years
    in work related circumstances (audio/visual).

    I can't say that it's "best" because there are others that are just as good, but I've always found them to be reliable and well laid out. Asus makes good ones too and I used to also liked older IBM's because they always just "kept on ticking" and were small and light before small and light became vogue.

    Selected HP for corporate/business models only.
    Decent build quality, satisfactory design permitting access to parts and pre/post sales service during the three years warranty.

    Not pleased at all about ASUS laptops.
    Grinding my teeth dealing with UL80VT model at the moment.
    Useless user manual, 6 pages in total?!, did not locate a service manual, drivers coming out of my ears that could have been rolled up into one...

    No one picks Samsung? User reviews are generally pretty good for their laptops.

    I think that is only due to the fact that they are not widely available.
    Their SSDs are totally in house, so they have a decent reputation for those as well.

    You are probably right abut that. Samsung is king in phones but IMO is under-rated for their other products. I recently bought a Samsung point-and-shoot camera. it's the best P-&-S I have ever had ... better than the big names like Nikon, Canon, Panasonic, Sony, Olympus, etc. of the same class and I have used all of these brands. B4 I bought it I had never even consider Sammy for camera b/c it is not known in the camera world but boy am I glad to have bought it. The sweet part is that the Sammy is quite a bit cheaper than the big names of the same class too.

    Have also just bought a Sammy mono laser printer. Cheaper and WAY, WAY better than Hp, the big name in laser printers.

    The Samsung mono laser printers are also fairly easy to service.
