Start Button.... All Programs
When I left click the Start button in Windows 7 at the bottom left and merely move the mouse to "All Programs" area, all the programs are displayed.
I don't like this and don't want this. I would rather see the programs only if I click in the area with the "All Programs" label.
I cannot find where to shut off this feature in Control Panel. Is there a registry edit that will help? Thankyou.

Robert M---
When I click Start, the Programs list does not appear unless I hover over the All Programs area. Maybe this because I have some shortcuts immediately above All Programs and the PC may think I still want access to those since they would be covered up by the Programs list.
Try putting a program shortcut in that area (right click|Pin to Start Menu) if you do not already have some shortcuts there. Otherwise, be careful not to hover over "All Programs".
Of course the Programs list also opens if I left click All Programs.

That's correct, I guess I should have said hover.
But the hover time before it appears on my computer is about 1.5 seconds. This has been driving me crazy ever since I got this computer and has caused arguments between myself and other people that use the computer.
For example, before I figured out that the computer was doing this on its own I would ask why my friend clicked on all programs when I was trying to help him with a search. And the he would say he didn't and then I would say he did and so forth. I can't stand this feature, there must be some way to disable it.

Thanks I'll try it the registry edit some time but it looks like I can only increase the the hover time not disable it and I would rather not download anything.

Ok. Just tried it. Pretty sure this is what you want. You must click on All Programs, not hover. No registry hacking or downloads required.
