What is this thing?
I got this cable in the mail today. I don't recall ever buying it, have no idea why it was sent....and I have no idea what it is. 
Here are some pics. The item is very small and flimsy and seemingly no metal at all. The clear plastic caps come off as shown. No markings at all except "2" and "4" on the connector ends. I don't even recognize the company that sent it. Bizarre....but I am curious now. The connectors look somewhat shaped like USB Type B as far as the housing shape.....but are all plastic. Any idea what this is?

Nevermind.....someone clued me in on it. It's fiber optic cable....

Have no idea why it was sent to me....and I have nothing that is fiber optic driven. But at least the mystery is solved....

Mystery further solved. I'm an "extreme sweeper". That's someone who enters hundreds and hundreds of contests and sweepstakes each week. This cable is a consolation prize for the losers who didn't win the Motorola XOOM tablet. I had forgotten I entered this one weeks ago....
They gave away 16,000 of these cables.....
