Question Where to get a HP replacement Hard Drive?

.....or components, but mostly hard drive.

It's an HP Pavillion, G series model: g6-1a30us. Instead of having to get replacement parts through the manufacturer, I'd like to get one on New Egg or something.

It doesn't HAVE to be the one that he Toshiba came with, right? It can be a pretty standard laptop hard drive?

Hard drives are hard drives. Odds are its a SATA drive...but you'd need to confirm that before ordering one.
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

It doesn't have to be necessarily a 320 gig hard drive, right?

If you have a bit more budget, I suggest a Seagate Momentus xt hybrid drive. These are drive which include either 4 or 8gB of slc flash storage and are a huge increase in performance vs a standard laptop drive.

Correct, you can fit whatever size and speed of a drive you can afford or want and can buy it from anywhere.

There is no such thing as overkill. 'Open fire' and 'is it dead?' are the only sane options when threatened.

General is right, but if you want bigger, just use the drop down menus on the left and chose your size. Here's some 500gb drives:

And you don't have to buy them from newegg. Doc was just giving you a sample for laptop drives.
