How many is numerous?
If it's say 10, divide your "3.6 Mbps download" speed by 10 an you get .36 Mbps download speed for each tab (page|window). If it's 20 tabs, it would be half of that at .18 Mbps per tab.
In order to fill 20 pages instantaneously, you're going to need a much bigger pipe than 3.6 Mbps. And even then, you're not going to be able to download them any faster than those 20 webservers can send you those 20 pages.
