synchronize files and folder b/w two computers

What would be the easiest way to synchronize files and folders between two laptops ? Should I use some online service for that ?

The Computer messed up my life, did it yours too

If you have physical access to both laptops at the same time, a crossover ethernet cable and Microsoft Synctoy or SyncBack from 2BrightSparks might work for you.

With people having so many devices now, I think the best way to sync files is a cloud service, such as skydrive, dropbox or others.

I'm not sure that’s the case. If data volume is big it’ll take much time to say nothing of cost as you’ve to buy the appropriate disk space. I do synchronization of my projects between office and home pc no using cloud storage. I sync by max syncUp. Convenient app.

It all depends what you have to sync. I have 25gB skydrive from my internet provider, I have another 25gB skydrive with my hotmail account and 16gB with dropbox.

As for speed, it depends what internet connection you have, but I have 50gbit/s upload speed with my fiber connextion and 4G on my phone and tablet.
