Your limited by the motherboard to 2GB on that http://www.crucial.com/store/listpar...6630EA&Cat=RAM assuming a V6630EA is close to V6630EM.

Not exactly. Upgrading to 64-bit will not help if the motherboard doesn't support over 2GB.

    http://www.crucial.com/support/recognize_memory.aspx
64-bit would allow the OS to access memory above the 3.3GB limit. However, the motherboard needs to support the memory first.

Check the link that wonderinguy34 posted. You can click "scan your system".

Also the reason I gave you the link as there are a few single core cpus listed for that lapper.

Win 7 32 bit probably has all the drivers needed for the laptop, if not the Vista 32 bit drivers should do the trick.

The crucial site doesn't list my exact model,v6630em,is there any difference
to the v6630ea that they mention.
    My spec's are AMD Turion 64x2 tl-58,2.0gb ram,win 7 32 bit.
Will i only be able to upgrade to 64 bit win7 but not the ram. Will upgrading to 64 bit win7 alone make any performance difference.Thank's

    From Vista, yes you should.

What country did you buy that lapper in?
    If the UK
    http://www.crucial.com/uk/
    It should be listed.

    HP UK lists the laptop

If you can't upgrade the ram, I don't think you'll see a significant performance gain going from 32-bit win7 to 64.
