Google Chrome Crashes with Hotmail/Live.ca - Crash with Silverlight
Hi, all,
I started using Google Chrome as my default browser for about 2 months now (with Win XP SP3). And I have an e-mail account with [email protected] (that is a hotmail equivalent from Microsoft).
Very frequently now, when I tried to compose an e-mail:
A) The Chrome tab for that e-mail crashes - saying that Chrome cannot install Silverlight plug in.
B) When I tried to attach a pdf, Ms Word, Ms Excel, jpg file to my e-mail, I cannot attach that file (but if I exit that Chrome Tab, and start all over again, the problem goes away - but it becomes an inconvenience). When bad things happens, it says that my attachment has a bad format. I know those files I want to attach do not have bad format because I can receive and read them if they are sent to me from others, or I created them on my own computer with Nitro, Ms Word, Ms Excel, (for jpeg files, I use Paint, Irfanview, etc.) in the respective cases.
Is there any solution to that? Appreciate help from all you good people here.
Also for all you e-bay users, please be very careful using Chrome to shop. Better to use Internet Explorer to shop. I just encountered many crashes, and ended up with ALL of my purchases duplicated - and I could not remove them in my Shopping Cart which said I purchased them already - and awaiting my payment :->>>> VERY BAD CONSEQUENCES IF THE SELLER DOES NOT AGREE TO VOID THE DUPLICATED ONES, AND I HAD TO CONTACT THE E-BAY CUSTOMER SERVICE TECH HELP DESK TO "UNWIND" EVERYTHING IN MY SHOPPING CART !!!!

To give further information :
- My Chrome version is 17.0.963.56
- I went to the Microsoft website and found that Microsoft suggested to install Silverlight in Chrome. I tried to download the Silverlight plug-in, it said I already have successfully installed Silverlight. [Cannot download, therefore cannot install anything].
THE FRUSTRATION HERE IS THAT THESE SOFTWARE GIANTS ARE DOING A POWER-PLAY ON ITS USER COMMUNITIES.

To add to your issue, Microsoft is unlikely to do anything further with Silverlight. It may already be on the way out.
