data retrieval from quick format usb hdd

I have done quick format on a usb hard disk. Is there any data retrieval software which can get back the data for me. The file system is NTFS.

    Free or paid?

You can try these first. You'll need a separate target hard drive in order to copy the data from the formatted drive. If there was a lot of data on the drive, it could take a LONG time to recover the files.

If you'll search our site for "Data Recovery" you'll find tons of threads on the subject.

    Here's a popular one:

Accidentally deleted an important file? Lost something important when your computer crashed? No problem! Recuva recovers files deleted from your Windows computer, Recycle Bin, digital camera card, or MP3 player. And it's free!

And there are some of the more obscure tools here if those don't do the trick:

    Flash drive data recovery tools

I know it takes a long time. Recuva does not do a good job. What paid ones you'd suggest ?

What makes you say that? What did it miss?
