ok it sees the image file,at the point where is says choose additional restore options and the format and repartion disk option is not available

When it gets to format and repartition disks the check box there is greyed out and you cant clik on it , here is there error when fails 0x80780003

... what I learnt was ... if there was more than one backup folder for the pc under the WindowsImageBackup folder, then when I tried to do a Complete PC restore, it would get the error mentioned above ...

So the resolution was quite simple, to remove all the additional backup folders other than the main one for the PC and put them in another directory elsewhere on the drive, or another drive.
