    I don't think there will be any problems for win8 users with UEFI; but linux users will probably not be buying new mobo any time soon once UEFI is implemented.

    Linux users should,'t have any UEFI problems, as long as they buy motherboards and build their own computers. Buying an off the shelf computer may be a different story.

    I don't think Microsoft would be allowed to get away with requiring all off the shelf computers to run Windows 8 only however.
