    Paypal?

Anyone here have/use a Paypal account....that can answer a few questions on which type of account is suitable for my needs, fees, etc. Please....no links to Paypal. I've been there and would rather have an experienced user to talk to. Thanks.

I and alot of people here probably have a PP account. So go a head and ask your questions.

    Thanks...

Basically I am looking for something that will allow people to use either a Paypal account or a credit card to donate money to the upkeep of my website or perhaps buy something I might sell privately. Also, I might be looking into Ebay selling. So, rather than just buying....I am looking to receive funds.

    Questions:

    1. What type of account at Paypal should I get?
    2. Is there a fee for an account...or just transaction fees?
    3. Do I have to tie in a real world checking account or is there another way to deposit money?
    4. Are the stories about PP freezing an account and messing up the real world checking true?
    5. Should I get a separate checking account to tie in into Paypal?

I have had my account for too many years.... I'd have to go to their site to get answers to some of the questions

Yes you have to tie the account to a checking account and I think it really helps overall if you give them a CC account as backup....

As I recall - you the seller or person receiving the money pays a fee. You'd have to look on PP's web site to see a schedule of the fees.

It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to have a separate business checking account.

PP can tie up monies (amounts) that they've transferred. I believe that can only happen when there is a dispute.

Just created a new checking account at my local bank. They tell me it will be seperate from my other accounts should anything happen to it. I will tie this new account to paypal. Don't need a full-blown business checking account or a business Paypal account. Will likely opt for the Premiere PP account which I believe allows more incoming transactions, but with a little higher transaction fee.

I have had a personal PP acct for years ... never one single issue.

It rocks to make online purchases without having to enter my personal information.

    I love it

I signed up for the Premiere account yesterday and am waiting for it to be verified by some system of them making small deposits in my checking account....then I identify it to them....or something like that. Naturally I chose a holiday weekend to do this....so nothing can happen until the bank opens on Monday. Bad timing....

The Premiere will give me unlimited incoming and outgoing....and PP will process credit and debit cards for me. Also, unlike the simple account, I can actually withdraw the money rather than just spend it online.
