Hauppauge 2250
I rebuilt my computer last year because my motherboard gave out. Since then, I could not really use my capture card.
I am not sure if it is the new motherboard which is a higher version and still same brand. GA-X58A-UD5. Or the cable company changed something in their transmission as they notified us.
The symptom is where the cable connects to the capture card gets extremely hot. I was lucky that I caught it in time the other day.
Eitherway, could it be the capture card that needs to be replaced?
Originally wanted Millenium Falcon as nick but there is character limitation.
Falcon Speed = Millenium Falcon = Light Speed

The connectors on the cable should not get that hot. Even corrosion on the conductors should not generate that much heat. You could try a different cable, and check the connector on the card to make sure that there is no dirt or corrosion. I would suspect the card in this case though. A test would be to try it on another cable system.

Very likely.
Cheers.

Sure hope so. I'd hate to think that, somehow, the heat was coming from the cable!
