    Amazon Prime

Anyone here use Amazon Prime? Trying to figure out if it is worth the $79 a year price. I see they offer unlimited streaming video with it now too.

How severely does the annual fee impact your budget?

Will you use it enough to justify the cost?

    Amazon Prime

Amazon Prime offers free two day shipping with no minimum purchase amount for a flat annual fee, as well as discounted one day shipping rates. Amazon launched the program in the contiguous United States in 2005, in Japan, the United Kingdom and Germany in 2007, and in France (as "Amazon Premium") in 2008. In February 2011, Amazon Prime membership was expanded to include access to instant streaming movies and TV shows at no additional cost.

Well...it's not quite that easy....to just tally the charges and see if they balance. Apparently, Prime only applies to "qualifying" purchases. My real concern is just how much of Amazon is Prime Qualified? Hate to pay for a service, only to find that everything I want is excluded.

Amazon lists these items as Ineligible:

    1. Items fulfilled by merchants such as Amazon Marketplace sellers.

    2. Magazine subscriptions.

    3. Personalized gift cards.

    4. Any item that doesn't have a message indicating that it's eligible for Prime on its product page.

It's that last one that is pretty vague.....and where the devil may reside. Just trying to get a general feeling from Amazonians as to how much of Amazon stock qualifies.

I am going to sign up for the free month and then probably one year, after trial ends. Might be worth it just for the streaming video. My Touchpad is blocked from HULU and Xfinity (formerly Comcast Fancast), but I think it can go to Amazon. I will double-check though.

If you were planning on getting a Kindle Fire, I believe I am right in saying that you'll get a free subscription to Prime included.

I thought about Prime, but considering you get free delivery on everything anyway, getting something a day or so quicker really doesn't seem worth the expense to me.

If I had failed to get the firesale HP Touchpad, I had planned on getting the Kindle Fire. Since I did manage to score one....no need for the Fire now.
