    Windows Vista BOOTMGR MISSING

    Trying to start up and get error, "bootmgr missing". any ideas on how to fix this? Used HP Media Center computer. Did not get any OP system software with it.

    Make certain there isn't a cd/dvd or floppy in the drives and try again to bootup.

    Did not get any OP system software with it.
    You would have had to create the recovery discs when you first got the PC. That's standard for most companies nowadays.

    Try the startup repair first. I would also run a hard drive diag, either from the hd manufacturer's site or from UBCD5. Link is in my signature.
