is this hdd okay ?

I have two Hitachi hdds :

1000 GB sata2 18 months old and 1500 GB sata3 months old.
Sata3 developed bad sectors and Hitachi replaced it with a refurb.

When I run hd tune to see drive health status :

Does hd tune drive health monitoring means something ? Do I switch to sata3 drive which is refurbished. Recently, I have been having too much issues with hardware failures which has made me a bit edgy

If error still occurs with change/testing with another verified working SATA cable,
You can use Hitachi's diagnostic software, Drive Fitness Test, to check.

I agree, run DFT on it, then you'll get a much better idea if there is a real problem or not. Download UBCD and burn it to CD, it has all the disk testing utilities on it plus many more useful tools besides, then just boot up the computer with the disc in the drive and select the utility that you want - you don't need to be able to boot into Windows.
