    Resolved [RESOLVED] Load full page

I've noticed some sites are doing the annoying Facebook/Twitter style content loading, where even if you ask to see all the info (e.g., a list of products for sale), it won't just load the whole thing but rather you have to keep scrolling (or keep pressing PageDown or End buttons) to have the page keep loading more information until it's finished.

Is there a simpler way to accomplish this? The style of loading additional content once the end of page has been reached is valuable in timeline style pages such as FB or Twitter. But not very useful when your loading a list of some kind.

Do you have a link to one of those sites? Obviously I live a sheltered life, because I can't say that I've come across a site doing that.

    Here is one example:

    http://www.quirky.com/products

If you click on the "Show all" next to where it says "viewing 1-9 of xx" pages - you will see that as you scroll down, new items get loaded in batches.

I thought I've seen this happen in other places too. Seems to be just the way some sites are designed. Not a huge deal - I've gotten around it by just pressing Page Down or End until the whole list is shown. Then I can scroll up & down at my leisure.

The first thing that came to mind ...

How fast (or slow) a large page loads depends on: 1) the speed of your internet connection, 2) the capabilities of the device you're using to access the page, and last but not least, 3) the speed of the servers being used to host the entire content of the page.

One way to visualize that last one might be to think of it something like this:
Create 1,310,720 different-color single-pixel images and then store each one on 1,310,720 separate internet servers scattered across the entire planet. Now create a webpage that loads each one of those 1,310,720 images into a single 1280x1024 pixel page. (1,280 x 1,024 = 1,310,720). How long will it take for those 1.3+ million servers worldwide to all respond and totally fill your single 1280x1024 pixel page?

That site appears to have a slow image server. It's not so much that the page itself is being rendered in batches, rather that the images don't appear fast enough to keep up. Unfortunately, there isn't a thing you can do about that, the problem is at their end.
