Me too! I am kinda convinced that it is a bug of some kind. I don't use IE much but if I did, I would probably want to throw the PC out the window!!

That said I have looked a little for this issue. To date, I have found nothing that would provide relief.

Hopefully someone can give us some help...

To add more to the grief, I have this issue both with my desktop and laptop (
I use it only for accessing my bank and other money sites. Firefox is too loaded with
add ons and what not, dont want to use it on money sites.

Take this out for a test drive and see how it does:

How To Start IE9 Without Add-Ons Loading
    http://www.lifehacker.com.au/2011/04...d-ons-loading/

Just type the following command into the Windows search box to launch a bare-bones Internet Explorer:

    iexplore.exe -extoff
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

greendesert--I think you are talking about the window shown in http://www.mostiwant.com/blog/speed-...efull-add-ons/
I cannot tell you how to disable it, but you can set time in the "Tell me when the delay caused by add-ons exceeds:" box to a number which is high enough so the window is never activated.

Thanks Steve! I can't speak for greendesert but I don't wish to disable add-ons, just have the pop-up that IE9 throws at the bottom of the screen every so often stop after I have answered the question.

I have seen Jim's answer and it may well be the best way to go. Thanks Jim!

I have seen a solution for this using the Group Policy Editor, but that's not available in the versions of Win 7 I run.

HAN--Glad to have helped. I never saw that mentioned elsewhere, but just figured it should work and so far it does.

Well, I also do not want to disable it entirely but I do have increased the time limit and it is okay for now. I use roboform which triggers it everytime I guess. Still, I will consider this as a bug which MS needs to address to.
