Happened to me too!! GRRR! I had a 64-bit Win 7 laptop that did fine but the 32-bit Win 7 netbook choked every time. I finally restored back to a before updates image, downloaded them all manually and then installed without any issues. (I haven't installed .NET Framework 4 yet so that update fun is yet to come someday...)

I am also having this same problem. KB2468871, KB2533523 and KB39636 will not install. I tried 5 times. The relaibility update appears to be for 64 bit only. I am running WinXP SP3 32 bit. I have 2 other computers with same OS and updates installed last week with no problem. All 3 computers have netframework version 4 installed.
Googling these updates indicates that many people are having this same problem.
Anyone found a solution?

Have you manually tried to install the updates instead of the automated Windows Update approach?

Microsoft has unlimited no-charge e-mail support for updates:

If you don't live in the U.S., start here:

Yes. I get a message that the updates are not required or are being blocked by my computer.
