    Resolved [RESOLVED] Slow start up

    Hey guys, got another problem.

Running Compac Presario C700, Vista Home Premium 32-bit, SP2. in case anyone needs this!

So, recently I noticed on start up, the 2nd screen you get where it shows the loading bar on a black screen, that says Microsoft Corporation, takes FOREVER to load. I timed it, and it's pretty consistent, takes around 2 minutes and 15 secs to get threw it everytime now. It use to take less than 5 seconds. I'm wondering if somethings wrong here? 2 minutes to get threw that one screen is getting me worried, and it's also annoying to wait.

Now what I did to troubleshoot is
-A check system scan, I got a blue screen trying to schedule one too(totally separate problem, so don't worry about this).
-Did a few thorough virus scans, came out clean.
-checked my startup programs.. still have only 10 programs at startup, so nothing wrong there.
-I just checked some services that I disabled a few weeks ago, but they didn't fix it.

So I'm stumped. hoping someone has a scan or an idea as to why this is happening. Was thinking of just restoring the computer since I also noticed the blue screen.. but I think I'll just try to fix this first.

sorry guys, for some reason, after I had unchecked and rechecked some servies I had disabled a few weeks ago, it seems to be starting like normal after 2 cold boots!!!!!

At least I didn't waste anyone's time. Although the blue screen error I encountered, I might tackle in the near future with you guys

so PLEASE delete this as soon as someone gets a chance. Shouldn't have jumped to posting this so quick.

As you noted, messing with services, can cause all kinds of crazy things to happen. And thanks for posting your fix.
