    Resolved [RESOLVED] Temp Folder

In my Temp Folder I have just over 1GB used. Would I be wise to delete all of them? If I do, I realize I would need to enter my name and password for each of the regular sites I visit. Is this many--1,085 temp files-- considered large? To easily enter your temp folder, c/p %temp% into your search window or just put it in run on your Start button. As usual, TIA.

Passwords and usernames are not stored in temporary files, but in cookies.

To clean temporary files (it should be done once in a while)...

    Download Temp File Cleaner (TFC)
Double click on TFC.exe to run the program.
Click on Start button to begin cleaning process.
TFC will close all running programs, and it may ask you to restart computer.

And do not be surprised if TFC finds a few more Gigs. 4.4 GB is the most I have found so far. My prefered tool by far.

If you use Firefox, make sure that you clear its cache from time to time. Unlike IE, it will store every page you've ever visited and will eat an astonishing amount of disk space left to its own devices

What I like about Temp File Cleaner (TFC) (Besides it doing it's job)
Is that it's not a program you have to install, you just run it!

Another senior moment Broni--I know cookies store the password; etc but forget that when I posted. Am about to use the link you gave and clear out those files. And thanks to others who posted.
