Windows 7 64-bit video went bad
I'm using Windows 7 64-bit with IE 8 and I just installed IE 9 plus an nVidia upgrade. The reason I upgraded is suddenly all of my streaming video was very distorted. I've also installed the latest version of Flash Player and Active X with no luck...the video is still bad. The streaming video was working OK before.
If there is no fix I'm tempted to bite the bullet and buy the 32-bit version upgrade. I regret ugrading to Windows 7 and should have ran Vista for a while then switch to a Mac.
Any fixes/suggestions for the video problem would appreciated!
Mike

As this started out of the Blue, I think using System Restore to roll back to before the problem started would be a good thing to try here.

This morning after booting up, it's working fine. Last night I did a cold shut down and it continued but for now the video is fine. Beats me...

Since upgrading to MS Windows 7 64-bit, RAM and i7 processor, all the You Tube videos run fine for about a minute ant then becomes very bad. I use it a lot for PhotoShop tutorials and it worked fine with Vista. My video card is an nVidia GeForce GTS 250. From my Google research this is a common problem on many forums. Would a new video card fix this or is this another MS blunder?
The only for sure fix right now is to reinstall Vista.
Thanks for any suggestions!

If the hardware and drivers you are trying to use are not compatible with Windows 7, Windows 7 will never work right.

Explain what you mean by "becomes very bad". I doubt this is a graphics card issue, and I have Nvidia 200 series cards on two Windows 7 PCs which are just fine. But it's hard to pinpoint what it might be with such a vague description.

It's very pixelated and I can only see moving color images. The same problem occurs on all Hula.com videos yet MSNBC and ESPN videos play OK but not as well as before. All the forum problems are upgrades where new PC's with 64 bit seem to have no problems. My brother has a new HP laptop with 7 64-bit and has not problems on the same sites. The video card answer seems to make sense.
What video card in the $80.00 - $150.00 range would you suggest for Windows 7 64-bit as I plan on buying a new LED monitor. As mentioned, I'm running an ASUS GeForce EN GTS 250 which I installed 1 year ago and had been on the market for about a year I'm guessing. Also, I checked for any new drivers on nVidia and found none.
What video card in the $100 range would you suggest for Windows 7 64-bit?
Thanks!
Mike
