    Antivira AV issue

    Yesterday Antivira AV infected my laptop. Completely blocked my ability to use the internet.

    I tried everything to remove it without success. Then I tried a simple System Restore. It worked!

    My question is if Antivira AV is just hiding in wait.

    Has anyone here run into this issue? What action should I take to prevent this from happening again? Apparently MSE is not protecting me.

    I'd run a complete set of scans laid out here (incl malwarebytes) and let us see the results to make sure it's completely gone. System restore may have replaced some infected files the but source of the infection is likely still on the computer somewhere.
