    G-Lock Temp Cleaner???

Has anyone on this great board heard of/used this temp file cleaner? If so, how is it?

    Found it at www.glocksoft.com/temp_cleaner/index.htm#top
After reading Dudley's post on registry cleaners. I've been using HD Valet for quite some time with good results. But it "does" leave stuff behind. Would like to try it, but would like opinions from folks who actually "have" tried it.
    Thanks..

Well, I used to use CleanDisk3 and was very happy with it, untill it died on me with a run time error 429 every time I tried to autoclean.
Reality is, there are a lot of these apps around, but they really don't do much more than what you could do yourself quite easily.
When you delete all files with the extension *,temp, *.bak, *.old, *.prv, and *chk, there really isn't much left to worry about. And *.tmp files probably comprise 99% of those.
    Try a batch file: http://www.pcforrest.freeserve.co.uk/deltemps_bat.htm
If you really want to clean up, have a look in your Software applet to see what you could really do without, and check the Windows Setup tab as well. There are probably at lot of options installed that are just taking up space.

I'm about to download and give it a go. As I've a good Norton's Ghost copy of my drives I shall rush in where angels ....

Let you know my results, unless you never hear from me again. Meaning the new program devastated my machine and I said "to hell with it" and threw my computer out the window and joined the crowd at the pub.

Kleinkramer, yep, your correct about there being a lot of "cleaners" around and i've tried most of them. But HD Valet does remove files with the junk extensions you mentioned and puts them in the recycle bin for safe keeping. Then, if no probs you just empty the bin later. Guess i'm just lazy, but like to have a prog that will do it for me.

Dudley, i use "take two" from ECD creator(the platinum version) to back up the drive. But i also burn all program "EXE's" and zipped programs to CDR's before i even install them.(finicky ol' fart, i guess )..
If i hear a big CRASH!!,,and after,,a loud CHEERS!! I'll know i probably should chuck the G-Lock thing.. If so,,have one for me.
