Network Adapter
I have a Intel (R) 82566DC-2 Network Adapter. I just got done reformatting my computer and now the #1 light on my router is off when the computer is shut down. There is a setting on one of those settings under the advance tab that keeps power to the light on the router when the computer is off. . I've been down this road before but I can't remember which one it is. Does anyone happen to know which one it is? Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.

It doesn't have Wake on Lan. It has Wake on link settings and it's disabled. The other one is Wake on Settings and it's set at OS controlled. The other choices in the drop down list are 1. Wake On Direct Packet 2. Wake on Magic and Direct 3. Wake On Magic Packet.

You can try enabling Wake on Link - Forced.
All you want is the light to go on?

I tried the wake on link to forced and that didn't work. I also tried each setting from the drop down box on Wake on settings and that didn't work either. I wish I could remember what I did last time to fix this. I'm getting to old and my brain goes on vacation once in awhile but it always comes back. I think it's on vacation now.

My mind came back. Before I had updated the adapter and under power management there is a box to check that says Wake on Magic Packet from power off state. Check that and when you shut down the light stays on.
