Spilled Drink In Laptop Keyboard
I have a Dell Vostro 1510 laptop that was given to me that had a drink spilled into the keyboard. I do not know what kind of drink it was. There appears to be a small amount of residue on the motherboard. I have the laptop disassembled.
Is there some type of cleaner I can use to remove this residue from the keyboard? The laptop will start up for about 5 seconds and then it turns itself back off. When the laptop is plugged into AC power the lights on motherboard do come on.

You could try good old isopropryl alcohol, that never hurts anything. Whether it will dissolve sugary deposits (which I what I suspect that residue is), is another matter. If it doesn't, then distilled water, used sparingly and carefully, and with a thorough drying afterwards, ought to be safe enough.
Nick.
