    Converting Tower to Desktop

I am about to purchase a refurbished Dell Precision 380 Workstation Tower PC. I would like to re-arrange the DVD and floppy drive bays so that it can be laid flat as a desktop. Is it possible?

If it is, how do I do it?

    Thanks in advance.

You can download the User's Guide from Dell.
Listed under Changing Between Tower and Desktop Computer Orientations .
    Cheers.

    Thanks, Shinma.

I have downloaded the User Guide as advised. But I can't find Changing Between Tower and Desktop Computer Orientations.

    Any help?

    For future reference,

After you have downloaded the user's guide,
    Create a temporary folder,
Extract downloaded user's guide/file to the newly created temporary folder,
    Sort files according to type,
Locate and open the file labelled index,
Click on desired topic and topic should open up in your browser.
    Cheers.

    Thanks, SpywareDr

It seems I would need an optional kit to convert. Any information?

I don't have a Dell Precision Workstation 380 handy to take a look but, from the pictures I've seen this morning it looks like you simply rotate the internal drive box, and front panel inserts 90 degrees.

(IOW, remove the front snap-in panel, remove the drive cage, rotate the drive cage 90 degrees, slide it back in ... etc.).

I will try it over the weekend and inform you about the results.

    Thank you very much.
