Yes, the F6 option in setup is to add additional drivers.

So you downloaded the SATA controller drivers and loaded them from a floppy using the F6 option? Otherwise, you would need to slipstream the drivers onto a new CD, but you would still have to download the SATA drivers.
Can you list the BIOS options you see? I find it odd that there isn't an IDE or PATA mode for the SATA controller.

Nope I didnt ,First of all the is no floppy..2ND i dont understand the dowloading sata drivers..I have a Toshiba laptop I nuked and wanting to install os on it and it says there is no o/s..or hd..Does toshiba have there own hd they install that no one else can format and use or what

If you didn't download the drivers to floppy and load them from a USB floppy drive, then you didn't use the F6 option properly.
Either find the IDE mode for SATA or download/slipstream the SATA drivers. Those are you options if you want to load XP.

Did f6 option and no luck//so does toshiba harve prioity on this hd or is a seagate or wht..I should be able to fdisk it and go but doont think so

SATA came out after XP was created.
USB floppy disk drives that are, and are not supported for [F6] use during Windows XP installation:

U guys are killin me,,Guess I might have to say I officially killed this notebook with a perfectly fine hd and mb and memory but I am to stupid to install a o/s on it cause toshiba decided to embed this, I do have bootable dmi toshiba recovery disk I burned, lets see if this works///
