Resolved [RESOLVED] Hotmail in Win 7 question

For a couple of days now my incoming mail has stopped showing the emailer and his title of the email in darker print. Now it is difficult to determine which is new email and which is older email when I open hotmail in Win 7 using IE8. Anyone else having this problem? As usual, TIA.

    Guessing darker print means BOLD

If the look at the "Arrange By" column are they arranged by Date?

Yea, bold is a far better description of the problem. And yes again, they are arranged by date but this feature does not affect the bold print--I have tried all of these settings and there is no difference. I know that MS has been 'playing' with trying to make hotmail more appealing to the users and I thought this could be 'another of those trials'.
Thanks for your response Steve and hope you have a great day

Hotmail is hotmail on any computer running any OS, I would think. But just for the heck of it, I booted up an XP and hotmail is the same there. If this is MS trying to improve hotmail, then, for my money, they have failed on this one. I can't think of a workaround.

As you can see from my attachment...it works fine for me...Was amazed that the mail took about 3 seconds to go from Time Warner to Hotmail.

Thats what I want back Steve!! To my knowledge, I haven't done anything that should affect that. I do have about 30 folders with content I have saved in them over the years and would hate to lose them. I don't think that I would want to download and install a new hotmail account because of this.

Have you tried using Windows' "System Restore"?

(It returns Windows to a previous state when your computer was functioning correctly).

Thanks Doc. I didn't wanna do that before cause I had other 'things' I had done since my last restore point. This time, and out of desperation, I did it anyway but it didn't fix the problem with hotmail. I think it is something MS has done to hotmail for our area--if that is possible!! Thanks for your response.

I had a brain drain a few minutes ago--checked my wife's hotmail and her messages are bold; therefore 'something' is wrong in my hotmail account settings. As I have reported already, I haven't the slightest idea what could have changed that feature in hotmail on my Win7 machine and an XP machine that I also have. I will keep looking but if you have an idea, I'm listening.

I recently installed an app named POPPeeper and must have done it about the time my incoming emails in my hotmail accountceased being in bold print. Yesterday I removed POPPeeper and hotmail now delivers my incoming mail in bold print. Don't know why but I don't miss the software--now.

EDIT: The software did what I hoped it would do but I can do without it--and will.
