Webroot AV with Spy Doctor 2011

Currently running Panda Cloud free version. Based on the recent PC Magazine review I am thinking about switching to this program. Since it is not free I am stuck with it once it's paid for. I am wondering if anyone here is using this 2011 edition and how it performs. I am concerned that it might impact performance and slow it down. Sorry, but I do not trust the so-called online reviews.

Free Avira http://www.free-av.com/ and malwarebytes http://www.malwarebytes.org/ are what I switched to.

I agree. I've got Avast a/v free and Malwarebytes. If you do want to spend a little money then pay for the fully proactive version of Malwarebytes that will run in real time on the PC.

Based on user feedback I have followed from around the web, independent testing results and personal experience, I am down to just a couple that I consider my go to AV apps for home use. If a user wants/needs a paid version, then Norton Antivirus/Internet Security (when running version 2009 and higher only.) If free, then Avast Antivirus. There are a few other add-ons I use and like (Malwarebytes, WinPatrol Plus to name a couple) but one of these is the core.

I have installed Webroot's Internet Security 2010 on a friend's machine and was not particularly impressed. I have had a fair amount of experience with Spyware Doctor in the past and it was a HUGE resource hog. Unless the new 2011 versions of these products are radical rewrites (and maybe they are) I could never recommend them.

Panda Cloud has received some decent reviews but I have not had any personal experience with it. My feeling is that if you like it and feel like it's doing the job, why change? As for me... I do know that in the past that if you want any granular control of your AV, Panda does not give it to you. That was the key reason I stopped running it a long time ago.
