address bar software
i went to a friends house today to install microsoft home and student, when i booted up the desktop it went to the desktop which was just a black screen with a white address bar in the middle of the screen, you just typed in the web page you wanted it took you there without going to a home page, what software would this be?
i know you can do the same with desktop icons but i kind of like it.

frebo--Maybe that was the Home Page?
I assume the PC was already in use so the user could have installed that Home Page or some program.
You can use MSCONFIG or Autoruns to see what programs are starting at boot.

might be i havent been back over there but it seems if it was the homepage there would be a taskbar or a way to minimize or enlarge screen. i will call her to night and find out what is running in there
