Resolved [RESOLVED] Printer problem, please help

Hello all, cannot wirelessly print, tried technical HP, my printers under guarantee, and they cannot sort it.

HP Said i have to "Disable Mac filtering on my Netgear 54 mbps wgr614-6vguks router. (Then Re-Enable after)

Also, need to also Allow all ports access.

Can someone please, please explain how to do the above two things.

(I then need to run add printer and re-enable the above)

    Windows Vista

    Thanks GEP

    Question Re:Printer Problem

Hello all, i have found out how to access my router.
But it does not mention Disable Mac filtering or Allow all ports access. What can i do now to sort this out, any ideas?

    Thanks Gep

gep - How is the printer connected? Is it connected directly to a computer using USB or parallel ports? Is it connected directly to the network using ethernet? Or is it connected directly to the router using a USB or other connection? More info is needed to help you sort this out. THe make and model of the printer would also be useful. The HP "tech support" personnel's suggestions are probably useless, since they are referring to router options that you probably aren't using, if the router is even involved at all.

Hello Train, JDC2000 and all, have already done that Train. I know my passwords etc.

Cannot still get printer wirelessly to work, still no printing from computer to printer, printer only prints out Printer fault reports etc.

Hp officejet pro 8000 wireless (A809)

    Have checked printer online etc.

PRINTER is not Listed in my Netgear Router, only my Laptop.

    Thanks for your reply, GEP

Yes, you will need to leave the ethernet cable from the printer to the router connected.
