Resolved [RESOLVED] how to connect pcs using eSATA?

    Hi,

my pc and lap top both have eSATA connections so i was wondering if i could transfer data from one to the other? I have an eSATA cable but don't know how to transfer things across.

    any help would be appreciated.

    thanks, John

eSATA is not designed/intended for networking.
    Cheers.

so i can't do it then? i thought it might be able to just treat the lap top as an external drive.

guess i will have to go back to Ethernet

Unless you are transferring really huge files, you won't lose much performance using Ethernet anyway. If you are transferring huge files regularly, invest in a gigabit Ethernet switch (all modern PCs should have a gigabit NIC installed already). With gigabit Ethernet you can transfer files as fast as the SATA connection would allow.
