creating PDF docs for freefax?
does anybody knows how to change a regular pdf scanned doc into a pdf995 so that it can be attached to the freefax front page? I think it has to be changed in the printer setup from the samsung choice to the PDF995( it is there already), but I don't know how to proceed.
thanks

If you have already scanned a document and converted it to a .pdf file, it should be ready to send with freefax. If not, just select the PDF995 printer when printing youd document and that will create a .pdf file. Some clarification on your problem would be helpful so we can understand what you are trying to do.

thank you for answering
I scanned this documents on PDF files and I have to attach it on the freefax, but freefax won't
accept it saying that it has to be converted in a PDF , I did convert before, scrolling down from the real printer to the virtual PDF995 printer, but I forgot how to do it, or maybe I have to scan directly as a PDF995 file?
thanks again

File not recognizable. Please save it as MS Word (.doc/.docx/.rtf) file or PDF (.pdf) file

I'm still confused here.
When you scanned in the document originally, did you select a file type of .pdf? Does the scanned document open in Adobe Reader? If yes, then freefax does not like something about the particular .pdf format (or size, etc.) for that document.
You then opened the document using whatever program was required, and printed a copy using PDF995? That should have produced a(nother) .pdf file somewhere on your computer. Did free fax reject that .pdf file also? If so, then you may have to try something else. Do you have Microsoft Word on your computer? How many pages is the document in question?

yes a regular PDF file was rejected by freefax, they always do...they only accept the converted PDF995 file that I forgot how to convert to it from a regular PDF...
there is some difference between PDF or anyother document and PDF995 ..I don't know what it is but it always been like this....
I think I converted to it..but I dont even know where it is now if I did.

Open the scanned document.
Click File, Print, select the PDF995 printer and click OK, then select the location where you want to save the new .pdf document (desktop temporarily, maybe). Give the document a name, if needed, and click Save.

Files created using PDF995 are "regular" .pdf files. Without getting too technical, probably the only difference between the .pdf file created by PDF995 and the .pdf file created by your scanning software would be some minor differences in the code wrapper for the document image/data. If you ever look at a .pdf file with a hex editor, you will see that it is a text file with embedded fonts, graphics, and document text, and text code tags are used to indicate how to display the items in a .pdf reader program. Freefax probably likes the PDF995 code tags better than your scanning software's code tags.
