Password Manager: good idea or bad
I use two computers at home. Thought I would save a few seconds of typing time by using a password manager. I was looking for a recommendation for a password manager and noted from my search here that both Steve Jones and Photolady in 2008 recommended pen and paper.
Are you guys still nixing password managers and sticking with your recommendation of pen and paper?

I still use pen and paper..And carry the paper in my wallet so I can gain access to sites from anywhere. I use a similar password for most things. When I write em down I do it like: For "VDR" -> W123_ _ _ _ $123 the _ _ _ _ is always the same. No one that grabs my wallet will know that VDR stands for VirtualDr....
If my hard drive dies without a backup - I'm ready to go anyway
If my pc gets hacked all my passwords won't be in one place.
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

Yes, still nixing password managers. Still using pen and paper. Even my browser's password manager is disabled. And my list, like Steve's, no one would figure out what they meant.

I'm currently using pen and paper too, but I'm finding that it's such a pain to find what I need, that I'm starting to design an Access database that I can store on an encrypted flash drive. I'm hoping that will be both secure and easier to manage.
Nick.

I have too many passwords for paper and pen. I use KeePass (the 1.x version because it doesn't need .NET Framework to run) and keep the database on a flash drive that lives in my pocket. The folder/files on the flash drive are not overtly named as such and the password files are (as part of KeePass) always encrypted when not in use.
