    Win7 or Vista??

I just completed my new build couple days ago and I was going through some things.

    my build:
    OS: Win7 Ultimate Pro 6.01 x64
CPU: AMD Phenom X4 9950 Black Edition 2.6GHz
    Mobo: ASUS M3A78-CM
    RAM: OCZ 4GB (2 x 2GB) SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
    PSU: Coolmax VL-600B 600-Watt PCIe
    HDD1: 75gb Winchester 10k rpm Sata WD740GD-00FLA0
    HDD2: 500gb Seagate Sata ST3500320AS
    DVD/RW: LG DVD Sata GH22NS50
    Graphics: Saphire Radeon x800 Pro 256mb DDR3 PCI-E

    From Compute\Properties, I see:
    Windows edition--------------------
    Windows 7 Ultimate
but running a Belarc Advisor, I see:
    Operating system
Windows Vista Ultimate (x64) (build 7600)
    Vista?! what?

running PC Wizard 2010, I also see:
    Operating System : Windows 7 Ultimate Professional 6.01.7600 (x64)

so I'm ralatively confident it's just a BelArc bug. Just wondering if anyone else has seen this.

    Belarc needs updating.

But remember Win 7 is what Vista should have been.

MPTech--I downloaded what I felt was the latest Belarc Advisor and got the latest updates before running the scan last week. It showed my version of Windows correctly. However, I run Win7 Professional 64-bit, not Ultimate.
So the results you got from Belarc would seem to be a bug.
Another way to test your version of Windows is to run winver from a command prompt.
I assume your signature line showing WinXP/98 dualboot refers to another PC.
