New Win 7 install on machine with Vista

New Win 7 install on machine with Vista - clean install

    Dell 1525 Inspiron
It's asking where do you want to install.

Disk 0 Part 1 OEM (Reserved)
Disk 0 Part 2 Recovery Primary
Disk 0 Part 3 OS System
Disk 0 Part 4 Mediadirect Logical

What do I want to "Delete" or "Format"?

Don't want to dual boot, don't care about mediadirect

Just want clean hd with only Win 7 on it..

Then delete those 4 partitions so Windows can use the entire HD as a single partition.

Hey couldn't you make that a little more difficult? Actually I do have a question. After deleting all partitions will it then reformat the disk so I can load 7?

With an OEM,you'd be better off doing a total wipe of the drive using a utility such as Kill Disk . Otherwise, that "reserved" partition may not go away...
    Stupid question? No such thing!

Yes it will. After deleting the partitions, Setup will leave you a disk full of unallocated space which you can either use in its entirety to install Windows on, or you can chose a smaller partition size for Windows and then add extra partitions using Disk management later on.

Yes. Setup won't care what is on the partitions or what filesystem they have.
