[RESOLVED] Driver Needed
Hi, I have a Dell Dimension 4600, 500gb hd, 2gb memory and running XP. I need a MultiMedia Video Controller driver as I'm getting a error message with Device Manger. I believe the device in question is the Intel 82865G Graphics Controller. I tried all the video drivers on the Dell site and nothing worked. Any one have any ideas on how to work around this.

Did you try the INTEL site?
Sounds like you have an 865G chipset.

Do you have a TV tuner card? They sometimes describe themselves as Multimedia Video Controllers.

No Luck
I had tried an Intel driver from this site but I thought that I'd try it again. I got the same error message: "this driver can not be installed on this computer. Please contact the computer's manufacturer for further information".

You need to confirm what hardware is asking for the driver. I'm guessing you already verified that you are using the onboard video.

Go to Device Manager, right-click the unknown device and choose Properties, then in the Details tab select "Hardware Ids" from the drop-down list. Post back with what it says please.

TV Tuner & Device Mgr
Yes, I do have a TV Tuner card, a happauge 250 & I tried running the install disk but the software did not find the tuner which seemed odd. The Device Mgr was not resolved by this effort.
The Device Manager results for the device in error are as follows:
PCI/VEN_4444&Dev_0803&subsys_40000070&rev_01
PCI/VEN_4444&Dev_0803&subsys_40000070
PCI/VEN_4444&Dev_0803&cc_040000
PCI/VEN_4444&Dev_0803&cc_0400
I hope this helps

I don't see your device listed, but 4444 is Internext. That might be who made the TV tuner chipset.
Did you try reseating your TV tuner card or putting it into a different slot?

Second link is where you plug in the vendor and device info, but the app on the first link does it all in one.
So it did verify that it's NOT the Intel video.
