Remote Access to Windows Home Server Issue
I am having trouble with Remote Access to my WHS. I've been trying to resolve this for weeks now and figure it is time to start at the beginning.
So I have been told that I need to have ports 80, 443, and 4125 open for Remote Access to work. Open Port Checktool tells me that 80 and 443 are open. 4125 is closed. My ISP does not block ports. My remote access worked previously, but I had 2 bad hardrives in my server and it was out of service for quite some time.
Anyway can someone tell me if I have my LAN configured properly. I figure that is the first step. I have replaced my router and can't recall if the WHS has had remote access with this router.
Here is the setup,
Router
LAN I.P. 192.168.2.1
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Gateway 0.0.0.0
DHCP- Server (yes)
Start I.P. 192.168.2.5
Max DHCP Users 95
Windows Home Server
I.P. 192.168.2.5
I'm wondering if my WHS I.P. is correct? Or should it be outside of the I.P. pool? And should there be a Gateway I.P. set in the Router? My ISP uses Dynamic I.P.'s so maybe that can not be set? IDK.
This thing has more bugs than a big city flop house.
