Resolved [RESOLVED] How to launch a program from STARTUP in Administrator 'mode'?

    Hi all!

I am trying to launch Steve Emmons' Battery Alarm from STARTUP, when I logon from the USER account (we have only 1 logon, and it does not have Administrator privileges); but it Abends every time ...

No problem ... I merely re-start it as Administrator ...

Can anyone tell me how to do this automatically (so I don't have to run over every time a family member yells at me that it has abend'ed, whenever they restart the computer)?

    Thanks in advance!!
    Thanks!!! David

This explains what you need to do:

Thanks very much for this pointer ... I did, however, already look at properties expecting to find a "Run as Administrator" check box ... so (since I didn't find one of those) I probably should have, instead, asked:

What does one do when there is no "Run as Administrator" check box in the program properties ?

    Thanks!!! David

    Ha!

    Found it!

select the COMPATIBILITY tab in the Properties dialogue ... If the Privilege Level is grayed out, then merely press the SHOW SETTINGS FOR ALL USERS button; then you can check the Run as Administrator box, and it will work ...

Just be prepared to always enter the Administrator Password at each Startup
    Thanks!!! David
