[RESOLVED] No Compatibility Tab In Game Program
Not sure if this should be listed under Vista or under Gaming.
Today I downloaded a game that is suppose to be for Windows XP--even though I have Vista Home Premium 32Bit. I have played games on my Vista before by manually making a game compatible using the compatible tab--right clicking on the program and selecting the compatible tab. But when I right clicked on the game icon in my program's list and chose properties, there was no compatible tab listed. Am I doing something wrong, or does this just mean you can't make this XP game compatible with Windows Vista?
Thanks,
Sheila

Did you just try playing it in Vista? I've got games made for before XP and they play fine in Vista without changing to compatibility mode.

PhotoLady: You were right. I just tried it and the came came up with no problem other than taking up a little too much of my monitor screen. I have a 22 inch flat screen and the game seems a little too big for it. When I read the system requirements, it said from WD 98-WD XP. If it had just been for XP, I would not have been worried. I only played it a little because I did not want to have my granddaughter start at different level than level one--but it seemed fine for those few minutes.
Thanks for your advice,
Sheila

You're welcome Sheila. Glad I could help. And I hope your granddaughter gets real enjoyment out of the game.
It's true, most games that will play on windows 98 and XP, will work in Vista without any problems. I've got several I play on my Vista Ultimate with no problems....well, except for when I win, then the games get boring.
