User locked out
Laptop has vista business. Friend said he does not know what happened .
I looked and on startup his user name comes up and underneath it
" user locked."
If i click on it a tempory account loads with a pop up saying this is a temporey account and no data will be saved.
What happened?
How do i unlock the account?
Thanks

I'd say that is most likely a corrupt user profile. Follow these instructions to get to the hidden admin account, if you don't have another admin account available, then you can rescue any data and create a new account. Afterwards delete the troublesome account.

The problam is there is item 1. Logon to vista using your usual account.
The usual account is the one that is locked. Vista loads to a temporary account.
I will give it a try from the tempory account.
