Everything looks fine with the new name, but, i opened windows exlporer,

Right click does not give an option to change it.

You can't change the name in Explorer.
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

If you really must change the name of that folder, the only way is to delete that User and then create a new one with the name that you want. Unfortunately, that is the only way.

I think one of the ways you could do this (although both SuperSparks and Steve R Jones are right), would be to do the following.

Rename the user back to Alan. Create a NEW user named Ray.
Copy Alan's profile to Ray's profile. This can be done in Windows XP with the following steps (I am at the office, so I don't have Windows 7 readily available to tell you the steps for 7.... sorry):
Open the Control Panel and select System Properties.
Choose the Advanced tab in System Properties dialog box. This opens a new User Profiles window.
Select (single click) on the Alan user profile and then click the "Copy To" button.
    Select Ray's profile.

I think that should have the end result you want (where all of Alan's files and permissions are copied to the Ray user). Verify this works, then you can remove the Alan user. Viola. You have now 'renamed' the user to Ray!

Hope this helps, and someone point out any flaws in my thinking.
