Hi
I bought this lap top (second Hand) great deal it comes with XP Pro, while I am trying to merge a registry and clicking on merge, the registry file just open in note pad and receive the following error massage
“the file name, or directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect”
How can I solve this issue (this happened in several registry merge not once)

The error message is telling you whats wrong
We would have to see the merge file and the "almost" matching entries from the registry.
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

Start by posting the contents of the merge file. And it wouldn't hurt to mention why and what it is your trying to do.
EXAMPLE:
C:\PROGRA~1\ArcSoft\ShowBiz\showbiz.exe
If you're trying to merge an entry like the above - it won't work unless the folders and the EXE file are already on the pc.
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.
