memory/win7
Hello folks, I recently did some upgrades to my desktop. I did a clean install of windows 7 (64 bit) home prem. I had 4 gigs of corsair dominator memory installed at the time I installed 7. Everything went great, the computer smokes the drivers all work fine. The problem I am having is it will not boot to wondows with 8 gigs of ram installed, it will boot enough to access the bios and is seeing all the memory. But when I try to boot to windows it stops at the point where the little colors are spinning around to make the windows logo. It stops there every time. If I take the 4 xtra gigs of ram out it boots right up. The mainboard is asus and its good for 16 gigs. thanks

If applicable,
Check ASUS for any BIOS updates.
Cheers.

Definitely check the bios for updates. You may also want to check the ram timings. Enable the SPD timings, if you haven't already. Many times, the command rate had to be set to 2T for more than 2 sticks of ram.
