Bounceback Essentials. Anything bad I should know about this software?

I keep telling myself that I am going to do routine backups. Read an ad for Bounceback Essentials. Found only one negative review, having to do with BBE altering BIOS settings. Is there anything bad, or good, I should know about this software?

Macrium backup offers a free version and is well tested. I've used it and had no problems..

I have read a review or two in magazines about Bounceback. They were both positive. It seems to me to be a cross between a traditional imaging program and an instant system recovery (ISR) type app. The instant recovery would appear to be related to the BIOS change as it would likely add something to the boot menu to give you an option to restore to an earlier version of your system.

Now, that all said, I just can't recommend Bounceback. I just don't see the point of running extra bells and whistles when a basic system image is the best, ironclad backup. ISR apps can't save you from a bad hard drive, so IMO, it's just not the right answer.

fink's links are two good free alternatives. Many here like paid True Image for system images. I prefer paid ShadowProtect Desktop but it's more money than TI...
