Setting up bootable USB flash drives and external harddrives

I think I have an Award BIOS--quite new ( F4 11/20/2009). When I enter either the BIOS setup or Boot Setup I see that no USB drive is indicated as already bootable. When I look to see the potential boot locations that potentially can be added, I see LS 120, ZIP, USB-FDD, USB-HDD, USB-CDROM and USB-ZIP. Are any of these the USB options I am looking for?.
Can anyone advise what USB option(s) I should be enabling as bootable?
    Thank you.
This is a new PC--only one month old. See specs below.
